Latest Updates from Our Project:

Welcome Aboard, Jerry Paris!
over 1 year ago – Thu, Aug 03, 2023 at 08:01:40 AM

Hello, and welcome to our latest update.

Today's missive has a personal element to it, so please forgive me if I gush for a moments or two...

... Years ago (38 of them, in fact), I discovered a comic strip called Bug Hunters. Serialised in the pages of Computer and Video Games magazine, it was created by Jerry Paris and co-written by the late Steve Moore. Combining as it did my twin passions of comics and robots,  I was immediately hooked. The artwork, especially, made a lasting impression on twelve year old me. Even now, this particular image remains a favourite:

And now I'm absolutely thrilled that Jerry has joined the team working on First Men on Mars. Initially, Jerry will be contributing a variant cover to issue #2, but I have no doubt he'll be returning for future issues and, all being well, future series. He's already made an impact by creating a selection of lovely - not to mention inspired - concept sketches for our Martian protagonists; we look forward to sharing these with you in the very near future.

That's all for today, but we'll be back soon with another update and more First Men on Mars artwork.

Very best,

Paul

New Artwork!
over 1 year ago – Sat, Jul 29, 2023 at 06:56:20 AM

Hello and welcome to this, our latest update.

As you know, our artists are currently in the process of drawing their allocated pages. We're thrilled to reveal that some of the pages are now pencilled, inked and ready to be coloured by Yel and John-Paul. As an example, here is one of Paul McCaffrey's excellent pages:

Needless to say, we're absolutely thrilled with this page and we can't wait to show the rest.

Very best,

Paul

Ian and Yel's Wraparound Cover!
over 1 year ago – Tue, Jul 04, 2023 at 06:35:28 AM

You wait ages for an update, and then two come along at once...

So, hot on the heels of our previous update, we now have some new artwork to share with you!  Whilst we admit this is artwork for issue #2, we're so grateful for you patience re: issue #1 that we think you deserve to see this:

Originally slated as a stretch goal for issue #1, this superb wraparound cover by Ian Richardson and Yel Zamor will now be used as a variant cover for issue #2.  We hope to bring issue #2 to Kickstarter during autumn / winter of 2023.

That's all for today, but we'll be back soon with some new, pencilled pages for issue #1.

Very best,

Paul

An Update
over 1 year ago – Tue, Jul 04, 2023 at 04:33:56 AM

Hello everybody and welcome to this somewhat overdue update.

Our artists have now completed their previous engagements and have begun work on the remaining pages for First Men on Mars #1. We shall share these pages with you as and when they are completed.

Thank you for your patience. Please be assured, it'll be worth the wait.

Best wishes,

Paul

A Preview for Issue #2...
over 1 year ago – Sat, May 27, 2023 at 10:09:12 AM

Hello and welcome to this, our latest update for First Men on Mars #1...

...Or what is, in actuality, a preview for issue #2! Whilst our artists are currently drawing their pages for issue #1, Ian Richardson has also finished the inks for what should have been our stretch goal wraparound cover. However, as the cover wasn't unlocked, we are now going to use it for issue #2.  And can you blame us? After all why would we let this go to waste:

Is that not a thing of beauty...?

...And if you think it looks good now, wait until it's blessed with Yel Zamor's lavished with colours!
