Hello and welcome to today's update.

After yesterday's feature on Time Bomb's Kickstarter for Brawler #3, today we'd like to turn our attention back to First Men on Mars.

As the Kickstarter for First Men on Mars #1 progresses, we at E.M.PRESS are still producing new artwork and material for not only issue #1, but also for the Kickstarter itself.  You may even have noticed the latest tweak, with Gary creating this fabulous illustration for the Kickstarter:

This fabulous image not only uses a variety of goggles, compasses et al to capture the general steampunk vibe of First Men on Mars, but it also showcases our standard and variants covers by Gary, Staz Johnson, Lee Carter and Ian Richardson:

The collection of comicbooks also features these stretch goal covers. They include Paul McCaffrey's cover for the PDF version of First Men on Mars and Tiernen Trevallion's cover for Lost Treasures, our collection of concept art and other promotional materials.

Also on show are these superb schematics. Drawn by Gary Erskine, they detail some of the various flying machines, tanks and wartomatons featured in the series:

On the desktop beside the schematics we can also see some of these postcards. They showcase Gary's promotional images and concept art created for First Men on Mars:

Finally, Gary's magnificent maps of Mars is hung on the wall. One of very favourite features from the Kickstarter, we think this map deserves pride of place on any wall!

Each of these covers, postcards and prints are included in a variety of pledges. They are also available as add-ons to your existing pledge.

Items such as Paul's alternative cover for the PDF of First Men on Mars #1 and Lost Treasures are stretch goals, and we can only unlock those stretch goals with your help. Please continue to share our Kickstarter and the updates on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagam accounts. With your help we can not only fund First Men on Mars, but also unlock all the items featured on this fabulous illustration! Thank you.

A Look at the Kickstarter for Brawler #3
over 1 year ago – Mon, Apr 24, 2023 at 10:37:45 AM

Our friends at Tome Bomb are running a Kickstarter for the new issue of their anthology title, Brawler.

This 56-page, perfect bound, full-colour anthology features eight strips, with each boasting unique characters and concepts brought to life by the likes John Higgins (Watchmen, 2000AD) and fan favourite writer Mike Carey (Lucifer, The Unwritten, Felix Castor) and many, many more!

Having already attracted over £2,000 worth of pledges, Time Bomb is now unlocking stretch goals. These include additional cards for their exciting collection of Battle Cards; these allow readers to play a Top Trumps-style card game which pits Time Bomb’s panoply of characters against one another.

In a diversion from other Kickstarters, Brawler #3 has already been finished and Time Bomb are using Kickstarter to enable backers across the world to not only pre-order this special anthology, but also to choose between a conventional or ‘virgin’ cover. The latter is free of any mastheads or other graphic design and allows the reader to fully appreciate the beautiful cover art. This art has been created by industry veteran John Higgins .It’s also, frankly, superb, and we’re very, very jealous!

The Kickstarter for Brawler #3 ends on Monday, 1st May. You can back it here.

Hello ... and Thank you!
over 1 year ago – Thu, Apr 20, 2023 at 03:16:47 PM

Hello and welcome to this, our first update of this new Kickstarter campaign.

First and foremost, a massive thank you to all of our backers; you've all helped us make a great start and we owe you a massive debt of thanks.

However, we're not over the line yet, so we still need your help. Please continue to share the project by word of mouth and on whatever social media platforms you use; every little helps, and we're confident that the more people see the campaign and the quality of the work we've done so far, they'll be hooked.

Speaking of work done so far, there's still more to come! Even as you read this our artists are drawing fresh pages to show you, each one taking us a step closer to finishing the first issue. We look forward to sharing the new pages with you as soon as possible.

That's it for today, but we'll be back soon with more updates.

Very best,

Paul
